We all have experienced the feeling that all this technology, all these tools and devices, all of those applications we use daily may actually have us working for them, rather than the other way around. So in service to stopping the technology tail from wagging us user dogs, we have envisioned a solution.
What if, when a group of folks come together around a shared interest, goal, vision, or purpose (the "Collective"), there was a platform (the "Machinewerks") that automated all of the underlying applications, services and functions required to support their collaborative work in the way, offering the apps and tools, and customized to the preferences of each human being involved (technical "Metacognition").
In other words, we each should be able to join a project, with the click of a button; and using our favorite tools and apps, get to collaborative work on the project at hand without a steep learning curve, technology negotiation, virtual project disorientation as to who is involved, where information is kept, and how to communicate.
We envision a human being centered platform that knows how to set each participant up in the project, and integrate all individual contacts, communications and contributions in an inclusive and facilitative way. The technology exists. The goal is to develop and integrate the requisite layers of functions and services into the CMM so the experience is seemless.
